Lighted Way Ministries Spring Retreat, 2007

This past May retreat was an answer to prayer. Many helped us with preparing meals, speaking, providing music, and just keeping the retreat running smoothly. Thank you all for your help and support!

The retreat (the first-ever Lighted Way Ministries retreat) began with a lovely candle-light Passover meal. The delicious meal was prepared and provided by Tim and Marci Lee.

The message of Messiah in the Seder experience was filled with timely truth for God’s last-day people. Danette Davis played a powerful rendition of Via Dolorosa, Christopher and Katy Manfredine sang Isaiah 53 and everyone was invited to re-consecrate their lives to YHWH in taking part in the foot-washing experience. Several took part in the foot-washing service for the first time at this meeting. Several more were partaking of their first Seder meal.

The Passover meal was held (the evening of May 1st, 2007) in the Noah’s Ark dining hall . 60 people were in attendance that night. Some were local members of the Messianic faith. Others were new local annual-Sabbath keepers. Still others had traveled from California, various parts of Canada, New York and Alabama to join us in this powerful and timely experience.

The next morning (May 2) was the day of Passover itself. This morning began with a tour of the Noah’s Ark life-sized sanctuary. The tour, led by a private tour guide, took us throughout each part of the wilderness sanctuary and into the side rooms which contain miniature towns and scenes from the life of Christ, and the unbuilt temple of Ezekiel. This tour was provided by us as a special gift to all who attended the retreat. It was enjoyed by all who participated.

Meetings were held in the evenings on the non-Sabbath days and all throughout the day on the Sabbaths. These meetings were held in the sanctuary courtyard. It was a very appropriate setting to the subject matter of God’s people becoming fit dwelling places for the Holy Spirit. It was a powerful, spiritually rich time. The messages included: Mark Manfredine’s talk about the Messianic prophesies in the Psalms, titled the Restoration of all Things; Danette Davis’s series about the Statutes and how they apply to the lives of the Remnant people of YHWH; Bill Boger’s talk about how God has used His Holy Days to do His big events; Charlene Fortsch’s series about the prophecies of Daniel; Charles Morton’s talks about health and organic gardening; Lou Davis’s talk about the promises; Christopher Manfredine’s talk about the armor of God and how to be a victorious Christian; and Shauna Manfredine’s series about keeping the Sabbath More Fully.

Kathy Schallert, Danette Davis, Corrine Jeske, Christopher and Katy Manfredine, Kaytie and Trevor Hernandez, and Mark Manfredine all blessed us with special music throughout the week.

In addition to the adult meetings, there was a special Adventures in the Sanctuary program for children ages 3-11. This program included songs, prizes, stories about the Lamb and the Sanctuary, crafts and more. The only complaint was that the children wanted more meetings!

In order to heighten the “familyness” of this special time, we had also planned a tour of the Wild Life Safari (located across the street from our meeting site). We went on a morning of a non-Sabbath day. About 30 of our group boarded the tour bus we had reserved and enjoyed the drive-through park complete with private tour guide. It was a very enjoyable time.

To everyone’s delight, it was much like taking an African safari. There were wild animals all around our bus.

After enjoying the 45-minute bus tour, we got out and did a walking tour of the village area. The picture below shows our group at the entrance of the Wildlife Safari village.

To our heavenly Father’s glory, many who attended the retreat took the time to let us know that they were blessed by the meetings and the retreat. Many of you desired to take the messages home with you – and were able to do so.

We are praising YHWH to announce this retreat is not only available in DVD but will soon also be available in CD form! If you are interested in sharing this material with someone, or want the sets for yourself, please let us know of your needs and interest. We will gladly send out the desired sets or materials.

We are excited to inform you that Lighted Way Ministries is now a legal non-profit entity. In addition, we now have a bank account for Lighted Way Ministries (meaning that those who desire to do so may make checks out to Lighted Way Ministries from here on) and will soon be ready to send out donation receipts to those of you who gave so generously at or after the retreat. Thank you for your patience through all of this set-up process. In addition, within a few days, we will be set up to process credit card orders. When this new feature becomes available, we will put a shopping cart on this website for your convenience.

Many of you wondered how this first Lighted Way camp-meeting came to be. Well, it was a YHWH-sized process of which we had no idea we would be a part. It all started last November when, as a result of some home Bible studies we had been conducting in our home, several new feast-keepers expressed an interest in having us keep the Spring feasts with them. This, we gladly decided to do. As we mentioned that we would be staying in our Southern Oregon location to keep the Spring feasts with this small group of new annual Sabbath keepers, several others mentioned a desire to come and join us also. In this manner, the number of persons attending the retreat kept growing until it was no longer a Manfredine-living room event. And we are absolutely amazed and thrilled to see what our heavenly Father can do – even with unsuspecting instruments! Glory to His Name!

We are also praising YHWH about how He provided for the needs of this retreat. Feeling the call of the Lord to host this retreat, we simply took a huge leap of faith. We went ahead and spent what was needed to provide a retreat that we prayerfully believed would bless everyone who attended. By the end of this retreat, every dime of what we’d spent had come in. YHWH is so good!

Thank you all for your time, talents, support and prayers. It was the Father who made this retreat the blessing it was, and all of you who joined us for this special time – we, together - were His instruments.

Mark & Shauna Manfredine, as of June 14, 2007, will no longer be associated with Anchor Ministries. We have felt impressed that it is time to work for God full time as ministers of the Gospel in Lighted Way Ministries. We already had chosen this name as it has been the name of our website for about a decade. But, Lighted Way Ministries is now growing to become a full-time ministry. Already Danette and Lou Davis, Shauna’s parents, are joining this ministry along with one other couple. Together, under YHWH, we will serve heaven as the new Lighted Way Ministry team.

There are some exciting possibilities in the future for the Father’s work through Lighted Way Ministries. One possibility is that we are prayerfully considering starting a unique school-of-the-prophets-style Academy in Southern Oregon. This Lighted Way Academy would not only provide a rich academic program (as the proposed teachers are all former or current high-school teachers – Danette Davis and Shauna Manfredine would be the primary teachers), but also (and more importantly) it would be designed to train young high-schoolers to take various leadership roles in carrying the final Gospel call: the Elijah Message, to the world.

If we find there is enough interest out there, enough to form a starting student body of 7-10 special teens, we will pursue starting this academy – possibly in time for next school year (YHWH willing). If this possibility interests you and you know of a missionary-minded, Christ-centered teen who desires this unique training, please let us hear from you right away. We will only be pursuing this possibility if there are enough interested and eligible students to warrant it – This is our “fleece” about this possible aspect of Lighted Way Ministries.
